GLAMP AT
Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August 2026
Walk back to a real bed.
BBC RADIO 2
“Just about perfect.”
Sutton Park is parkland, not a muddy field, but the bus back to York stops running before the music does. Glamping fixes that.
When the last set ends, your tent is already up and you're 5 minutes away. No taxi queue, no Uber surge in a village with patchy signal.
Memory foam mattress, proper bedding, a tent that zips fully shut. Showers aren't a thing on-site, but a dry, level base to come home to is.
Miss Daisy's Tearoom is in the same parkland, a 6-minute walk in whatever you slept in.
Be out by 11am Sunday. We take it from there.
“Just about perfect.”
- Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2, on Magpies Festival 2024
“So comfortable and cosy. I'll definitely be elbowing my partner to book again next year.”
- Rosie, Magpies Festival glamping guest 2025
Magpies is now in its 6th edition. We've pitched 1000s of bell tents at weddings and festivals across the UK.
Magpies is beautiful parkland 9 miles north of York. The accommodation question is not just the bed price; it is whether you can walk back to sleep when the music ends. Figures below exclude festival tickets.
| Own tent | £20pp camping pass + your own kit Cheapest. You pitch it, sleep on your own gear and pack it down Sunday. |

Plenty of toilets on-site, well looked after. No showers - it's a 2-day event so the festival doesn't run any.
Glamping field is inside Sutton Park, a few minutes' walk to the main stage area.
Tell us in the booking note who you'd like to be near and we'll do our best, though we can't guarantee it.

Thanks, we'll send you the wedding glamping info.

Plenty of well-maintained festival toilets on-site. There are no on-site showers because Magpies is a 2-day event - plan around that, or stay close-by post-festival.
The glamping field is inside Sutton Park, about a 5-minute walk from the main stage. You're inside the festival site, not parked half a mile away in a satellite field.
Check the official Magpies Festival site for the current 2026 dog policy. Pets in our bell tents need prior written consent - email events@theglampinggroup.com if you'd like to bring a dog and we'll sort it.
No mains power in the bell tents - bell tent camping is unplugged. Each tent has a battery camping light. Bring a power bank for phone charging; festival stalls usually offer paid charging too.
Check-in: any time after the festival gates open on Friday afternoon. Your tent is pitched and waiting - find your name on the village welcome board. Check-out: 11am Sunday. We pack down from there.

By public transport: take the Number 40 bus (Coastliner / TransDev) from York Railway Station, around 25 minutes, ~£3-5 single. Last bus back is early evening, so pre-book a taxi for late departures (Station Taxis York: 01904 707070).
Yes, free on-site parking via Gate A.
Yes. Multiple reviewers describe the festival as a small, friendly, family-vibe event in beautiful parkland. Under-5s are free, 6–10s are £22, 11–17s are £40.
Festival camping is on level, well-drained Sutton Park ground - mud is rarely a real issue. Bring-your-own-tent camping is £20 per person on top of the festival ticket. Or skip the setup and book one of our pre-pitched bell tents.
Music finishes Saturday evening; campers stay until midday Sunday. Pack-down for our tents is 11am Sunday.
August is usually fine. Bedding sets include a duvet, and tents zip fully shut. Cold sleeper? Add a memory foam mattress and a bedding set - you'll be warmer than most people in their hotel.
These tents have stood up to a lot. Integrated groundsheets, sealed seams. We've never had a guest get rained on inside one. Sutton Park drains well.
Toilets are plentiful on the festival site, well looked after. There are no on-site showers - Magpies is a 2-day event. Plan accordingly or stay close-by post-festival.
It's a folk festival in parkland, not a rave, generally calm by midnight. The Luxury Package includes ear plugs and an eye mask in the welcome pack.
Yes, and it brings the tent cost down to £67.50-£127.50pp for the weekend depending on package. Each 5m tent sleeps up to 4. Strict limit for safety.
Absolutely. Two memory foam mattresses pushed together make a king-size bed.
Full refund if you cancel 14+ days before the festival. No refund inside 14 days. Full T&Cs in your booking confirmation.
Full refund or transfer to another date.
Yes. Glamping is your accommodation, not your festival pass. Weekend (£78), Friday (£37), Saturday (£52) plus the £20pp camping pass - book on the official Magpies Festival site.
Friday 7 August 2026, 7 days before the festival. Tents often sell out before that.
No - we pitch the whole tent village on Friday and pack down on Monday, so single-night bookings aren't possible. Your tent is yours for the full weekend either way.
If you're reading this before 7 August, yes, most likely. Click any tent above, hit Book and you'll see live availability. If something's sold out we hold a small waitlist; reply to your booking email if you want adding.
